Oconomowoc Ranked #2 in 10 Best Wisconsin Communities for Young Families
(from Oconomowoc Focus)
From parks and trails to great schools and continued growth, Oconomowoc is a choice place to raise a family, according to a recent ranking released this week by a consumer advocacy group. The organization, nerdwallet.com, based out of California ranked Oconomowoc second out of its top 10 "Best Towns in Wisconsin for Young Families."
The company said that rather than focusing on what it costs to settle in a certain community, families "look at what the community has to offer, from its public schools to the local economy.
Criteria include public schools based on academic performance ratings and test scores.
"This is great news for Oconomowoc and the OASD. Without question, healthy, vibrant communities and great schools are inextricably linked. I simply don't believe you can have one without the other, and Oconomowoc being named as one of the best towns in our state for young families reinforces that notion," said Oconomowoc Area School District Superintendent Roger Rindo. "We are proud of our schools, and we know how fortunate we are to be a part of a community that offers so much. I see this new recognition as yet another great reason for folks to choose Oconomowoc."
