Wisconsin composer William Neil, whose resplendent orchestration of Rachmaninov's “Suites For Two Pianos” began our 2023-24 season, here makes his own original debut, in a serene musical tribute to the beauty of the American prairie. Howard Hanson — our great American romantic, born in late 19th-century Nebraska, of Swedish stock — has always been best known by his Second, "Romantic" Symphony — where we'll be joined in the ranks by young musicians from Brookfield's high schools! And Alex Chambers-Ozasky — Madison-based cello star, and a first-desk cellist of our Maestro's La Crosse Symphony Orchestra — will cut his own romantic figure, in Robert Schumann's lyrical 19th-century masterpiece.
