Congratulations for considering the Oconomowoc Area School District (OASD). As an OASD student, your child will have the opportunity to benefit from an exceptional educational environment. The quality of this district definitely impacted a recent ranking that placed Oconomowoc #2 on a list of best places to raise children in Wisconsin!
Other school districts visit staff and take in classes at our schools to watch our expertise in action. Recent visits have focused on:
- The exceptional Reading and Writing Workshops used in classes throughout the district
- Our award-winning theater/drama department
- Technology integrated into classrooms including hybrid class opportunities at OHS and classes like Game Design. Oconomowoc schools have the infrastructure in place to make "Bring Your Own Technology" a reality.
OASD has a proud tradition of keeping students at the center of every decision. District students benefit from dedicated, well-trained and creative teachers. Curriculum is regularly reviewed and updated to meet and exceed academic demands. Challenging experiences await OASD inside and outside the classroom as students participate in a broad array of clubs, arts groups, sports teams and community engagement activities.
Best High School of 2013
In 2013, Oconomowoc High School was listed in the prestigious Best High School of 2013, created by Newsweek. The ranking uses a variety of metrics, including graduation rate, the percent of graduates accepted to college and the number of AP and IB tests given per student. The goal of the list, according to Newsweek, is to find the high schools that best prepare students for college and career.
In 2014, 12 AP classes and 17 IB classes were offered at Oconomowoc High School to help prepare students to be college and career-ready.
Award-Winning Arts Programs
