OASD is pleased to offer FLeXConnect, virtual course options for students. Some of the courses are a hybrid format where students meet face-to-face within classrooms two or three days a week, but are not required to be on campus on the other days during the “standard” class period.
Advantages to offering this model to high school students are 1) workforce, training and college preparation 2) teachers and students report a higher level of interaction and individualized instruction in virtual settings 3) increased flexibility with time and pace and 4) ability to access technology tools for learning.
Just as in face:to:face courses, responsible and ethical use of media is continually taught and practiced. Sharing social spaces, when appropriate, with students allows us to communicate, learn, and share in a manner that is preferred by students, acknowledged as vital for future preparation, and deemed meaningful by educational research.
