Mission: Empowering a community of learners and leaders.
Greenland Elementary School was established over sixty years ago. Located in the heart of Oconomowoc, Greenland is in walking distance to Fowler Lake and Lac La Belle and the quintessential neighborhood school.
Greenland’s community of learners is made up of approximately 375 outstanding students, 58 dedicated, caring staff members, and an incredibly involved parent community. Students enrolled at Greenland range from 4 year old kindergarten to 4th grade. Greenland’s parent community is committed to the success of students and staff. Parents volunteer in classrooms, on field trips, at special events, and have donated thousands of dollars to support Greenland. We thank the PTO for the Lego Wall/Table, art tables/stools, the artist in residence programs, and updates to the playground and library. We would not have been able to make these things happen if it were not for the generous PTO. The Greenland Carnival, Movie Night, Fun Run, Book Fairs, and Greenland Games are amazing events sponsored by the PTO.
Greenland has been recognized by the Department of Public Instruction, as well as, the Wisconsin RTI Center. For the 2018-2019 school year, Greenland received a Silver Level of Recognition in the Behavioral and Reading categories. In 2018, Greenland received the Wisconsin Title I School of Recognition Award and was recognized in the area of reading for expanding the implementation of a multi-level system of support for improving student outcomes.
Students at Greenland expand their horizons by participating in clubs such as: The Garden Club, Student Council, Scratch Club, Movie Club, Minecraft Club, Board Game Club, 3rd and 4th Grade Drama Club and the Best Buddies Friendship Club.
Greenland embraces PBIS, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Staff take a proactive approach to developing student’s social skills.
Students and families at Greenland have given back to the larger community by donating to amazing causes like Best Buddies, American Heart Association, and TMJ4’s Community Baby Shower.
The 2019-2020 school year promises to be an exciting journey. We are excited to have everyone join us for Camp Kindness. Please feel free to call, email or stop by the office. I look forward to serving the students, families, and staff of Greenland Elementary.
