Founded in 1968, the International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation offering highly respected programmes of international education that develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
Oconomowoc High School is proud to offer the IB Diploma Programme. The Diploma Programme is designed as an academically challenging and balanced program of education that prepares students for success at university and life beyond. The program is taught over the junior and senior years and has gained recognition and respect from leading universities.
IB CAREER-related CERTIFICATE
Oconomowoc High School has been authorized to offer the IB Career-related Programme in conjunction with the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Pathways in Engineering or Biomendical Science, as well as the High School of Business pathway. This course of study allows students to experience a specially designed career-related core while recognizing IB values and the needs of pre-engineering, health services, and business students.
Students may choose to complete one of the IB programmes or to take individual IB courses. OHS offers the following IB courses:
