In-office absentee voting starts Oct. 24 and runs through Nov. 4, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM. To qualify, the elector must be registered and provide a Photo ID along with a written request. If you have any questions concerning your polling place, contact the municipal clerk.
Tuesday, November 8 is Election Day. The school district referendum will be on the ballot.
Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
MyVote Wisconsin (https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/) is the state’s official source for voting information, with resources to help you cast your ballot on Election Day. You can use the site to review your voting information, check your polling place, register to vote, request an absentee mail ballot, and more.
Don’t forget your Photo ID!
Wisconsin state law requires that you present a valid photo identification prior to receiving a ballot. A Wisconsin Driver’s license, U.S. passport or U.S. military identification card are all suitable forms of photo ID. Want to Avoid the Lines?
Rather than vote on Election Day, you can choose to vote early at your local clerk’s office (often located in your city, town or village town hall). Beginning in late September or early October, local clerks will begin accepting walk-in voters. For more information, contact your local municipal clerk and ask about in-person absentee voting. Get Your Ballot Delivered to Your Home
If you are registered to vote at your current address, you may cast your ballot absentee by mail prior to Election Day. Requesting a mail ballot is easy. Simply log on to https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ and follow the on-screen instructions.
To cast a ballot, you need to be registered to vote. There are several ways to register:
- Same Day - you may register to vote at the polls on Election Day
- By Mail - you may submit a voter registration form to your municipal clerks up to 20 days prior to Election Day. http://www.gab.wi.gov/forms/el-131-fillable
- Online - you may complete the online registration form at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/
- Clerk’s Office- you may opt to register in-person at your municipal clerk’s office until the Friday before Election Day
Regardless of how you register, you must provide proof of residence along with your completed registration from. All proof of residence documents must include your name and current residential address.
Acceptable proof of residence documents include:
- A current and valid State of Wisconsin Driver License
- A real estate tax bill or receipt for the current year or the year preceding the date of the election
- Utility bill covering a period within 90 days of Election Day
- Bank statement
- Paycheck or paystub
