OHS is proud to offer the IB Career-related Programme (CP). This course of study allows students to experience a specially designed IB core while recognizing IB values and the needs of students preparing for a career in one of these fields:
- Engineering
- Biomedical Science
- Computer Science
- Business
- Finance
In addition to the courses required for graduation, students will complete:
- Career-focused courses tailored to address a student’s specific career pathway
- A minimum of two Diploma Programme subject courses. The subjects can be studied at the higher level (HL) or the standard level (SL). A list of current IB Diploma courses is available on the International Baccalaureate tab
- A Language and Cultural Studies (LCS) Portfolio. Students explore their linguistic and cultural repertoires and reflect on them in the context of local and global communities
- A Community Engagement (CE) Portfolio. Students situate themselves in the context of community and to identify, explore, and understand issues that are relevant to them and their communities
- A two-part Personal and Professional Skills (PPS) course, fostering personal and professional skills
- A Reflective Project (RP) based on exploring an ethical dilemma associated with an issue related to the student’s career-related studies

While some of the career-related courses may be completed during grades nine and ten, the IBCP is only available to students in grades eleven and twelve.
IBCP Students must take at least two courses in their career pathway, including the capstone during the junior & senior years.

IBCP students must pay the required course exam fees (approximately $124) for the corresponding IB courses. There is no fee for IB Personal and Professional Skills.
